Why does Fether widget only show one recommendation product?

Modified on Wed, 31 Dec, 2025 at 4:42 AM

If you’ve noticed that the Fether widget on your store is only displaying one recommended product, you’re not alone. This is a common question from store owners using the “Frequently Bought Together” feature. The good news is that the solution is usually simple and can be fixed in just a few steps

Step 1: Check the Number of Recommended Products Selected

The first step is to verify how many products are set to appear in the “Frequently Bought Together” section:

  1. Navigate to the Frequently Bought Together section in your Fether app settings.

  2. Check the number of recommended products currently selected.

If the number is set to one, this explains why only a single product appears. To fix this:

  • Adjust the number to your preferred quantity of recommendations. For example, if you want three products to show, select “3” from the input field.

  • Save your changes and refresh your store to see the updated recommendations.

This adjustment is usually all that’s needed to display multiple recommended products.

Step 2: If the Number Is Not Set to One

If the widget is still only showing one product even though the selected number is higher, there may be a technical issue or a configuration conflict. To help resolve this, Fether support may need temporary access to your store. You can provide access safely by creating a Staff account or a Collaborator account:

Option 1: Create a Staff Account

  1. Go to Shopify admin >> Settings >> Users and Permissions >> Add Staff
  2. Enter the first name (Fether), the last name (Support), and an email address (support@fether.app)
  3. Choose at least Themes (with the ability to edit code), Products, Discounts, and App permissions
  4. Click "Send invite" to send the invitation to us.

Option 2: Use a Collaborator Account

If your store has a limited number of staff accounts, you can still allow Fether to access your store through a Collaborator account:

  1. Share your store domain and Collaborator code with Fether via email at support@fether.app.

  2. Once received, the Fether team will initiate the request process and integrate the solution seamlessly.
