When setting up Product Add-ons, it’s important to understand how they are assigned and displayed on your product pages. To ensure a clean shopping experience and prevent conflicts, each product can have only one Product Add-on applied to it at a time.
Product Add-on Assignment Rule
Only one Product Add-on can be assigned to a product.
What This Means
Each product can have only one Product Add-on applied to it
A product cannot be linked to multiple Product Add-ons
Once a Product Add-on is assigned to a product, that product cannot be selected in another add-on
This ensures that every product displays a single, unified add-on section on the product page.
Why This Rule Exists
This limitation helps to:
Prevent overlapping or duplicated add-ons
Keep the product page clean and easy to understand
Avoid confusing customers during checkout
Ensure consistent and stable add-on behavior
What Happens If You Try to Add Another Product Add-on?
If you attempt to assign a second Product Add-on to a product that already has one:
The product will not be available for selection
You may see a message such as “All products have been assigned already”
This indicates that the product is already linked to an existing Product Add-on.
How to Change the Product Add-on for a Product
If you need to update which add-on applies to a product:
Open the existing Product Add-on
Remove the product from its display settings
orDelete the current Product Add-on
Create or assign a new Product Add-on to that product
