Why the Discount Remains When a Product Is Removed from a Bundle

We understand that some merchants expect that if a customer removes a product from a bundle, the associated discount should no longer apply to the remaining items. However, due to the way Shopify’s Discount system works, this behavior is not currently supported.


How  Discounts Work

 

  • If a bundle discount is applied and a customer removes one item, the discount may still remain for the remaining items.
  • The discount calculation does not automatically check for the presence of all bundle items.


Many merchants have requested functionality to enforce discounts only when all bundle items are in the cart, but this is currently a limitation of Shopify’s Discount API.




Possible Future Enhancements


We value your feedback, and we can submit a request to our development team to explore preventing discount codes from applying if any bundle items are missing. However, implementing such a solution would require additional research and development, and may take some time to roll out.
