Understanding How Our App Displays Bundles on Your Storefront

Modified on Mon, 22 Apr at 11:52 AM

As a Shopify merchant, maximizing your storefront's potential to attract and convert customers is crucial. One effective way to enhance your product offerings is by utilizing bundles, which group complementary items together for increased value and appeal. Our app simplifies the process of showcasing bundles on your storefront, but understanding how it works is essential for leveraging its full potential.

Priority Order of Bundle Types

One of the key aspects of our app is its ability to prioritize bundles based on their type and specificity. Here's how it works:

  1. Specific Bundles: Bundles created for a particular product take the highest priority. These bundles are tailored to specific products and are ideal for highlighting complementary items or upselling related products.
  2. Collection Bundles: If a product belongs to multiple bundles within a collection, the app prioritizes bundles associated with specific collections. This ensures that bundles curated for a particular product category are prominently featured.
  3. General Bundles: In the absence of specific or collection-based bundles, the app defaults to displaying general bundles. These bundles offer versatility and can be applied across various product categories.

Priority Order Within Bundle Types

When a product is associated with multiple bundles of the same type, the app follows a priority order from newest to oldest. This ensures that the most recent bundles take precedence, allowing you to showcase the latest promotions or product combinations to your customers.

Managing Overlapping Rules

Setting up multiple bundle rules can sometimes lead to overlapping scenarios. To ensure clarity and effectiveness, consider the following tips:

  1. Prioritize Specific Bundles: Whenever possible, create specific bundles tailored to individual products to maximize relevance and conversion.
  2. Review Bundle Configuration: Regularly review and adjust bundle configurations to avoid conflicts and ensure that the most relevant bundles are displayed.
  3. Test and Iterate: Experiment with different bundle configurations and monitor their performance using analytics. This iterative approach allows you to optimize bundle displays based on customer preferences and behavior.

Examples

Example 1

Product F is both the main product of one bundle and the recommended product of another swappable bundle of a different type.

Customer has 2 bundles with configuration as the following:

  • Specific Bundle 1: When viewing product F, display product T.
  • Collection Bundle 2: When viewing product E, display product F.

→ When viewing product F, product T will be shown instead of product E, even though the collection bundle has swappable option.

Reason for that behavior: due to different bundle types, specific bundle takes priority.

Example 2

Product B is both the main product of one bundle and the recommended product of another swappable bundle of the same type.

Customer has 2 bundles with configuration as the following:

  • Specific Bundle 1: When viewing product A, display product B (swappable) -> When viewing product B, display product A.
  • Specific Bundle 2: When viewing product B, display product C.

→ When viewing product B, product C will be displayed instead of product A, even though the specific bundle 1 has swappable option (between A & B product).

Reason for that behavior:  same bundle type prioritizes the newer bundle.

Example 3

Product M is the main product of two bundles of different types.

Customer has 2 bundles with configuration as the following:

  • Specific Bundle 1: When viewing product M, display product N.
  • Collection Bundle 2: When viewing product M, display product P.

→ When viewing product M, product N will be shown.

Reason for that behavior: different bundle types, specific bundle takes priority.

Example 4

Product K is the main product of two bundles of the same type.

Customer has 2 bundles with configuration as the following:

  • Specific Bundle 1: When viewing product K, display product L.
  • Specific Bundle 2: When viewing product K, display product O.

→ When viewing product K, product O will be shown.

Reason for that behavior: same bundle type prioritizes the newer bundle.

Conclusion

Our app empowers you to showcase bundles effectively on your storefront, offering customers curated product combinations and enticing promotions. By understanding the priority order of bundle types and how overlapping rules are managed, you can ensure that your storefront reflects your marketing strategies and maximizes sales opportunities. Embrace the versatility of bundles and leverage our app to elevate your Shopify store's success.
